About Me

Be good to yourself, if you don’t take care of your body, where will you live?  – Kobi Yamada

Jen2015Jennifer has been a licensed massage therapist since 1993, with over 25 years of experience, working in various clinics and offices with a variety of healthcare professionals as a massage therapist and physical therapy aid. She is also a licensed acupuncturist and received a master’s of science degree in Oriental Medicine in 2011, which includes studies in both acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Jennifer was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and is a graduate of Punahou School. “On a personal note, I am blessed to have grown up here in these beautiful islands, being exposed to a variety of cultures and philosophies, with a strong love and respect of nature, the ocean, and the great outdoors.” Jennifer also has a master’s degree in music and studied classical piano, chamber music, accompanying, music theory, and ethnomusicology. “All my life I have had a passion for both music and health, which has contributed to my ongoing interest in sound, frequency, resonance, and vibrational medicine, of which I am excited to incorporate into my treatments.”

In my own ongoing personal holistic journey of wellness, I enjoy receiving and incorporating meditation, yoga, exercise, massage, acupuncture, herbs, naturopathy, homeopathy, and sound/vibrational therapy on a regular basis. As with music, I prefer to be a collaborative artist as well with my clients. I truly enjoy sharing and empowering others with the tools I’ve learned both professionally and personally, to increase their own self-awareness, and allow the wisdom of their own bodies to create and maintain inner balance, harmony, health, and wellness.”

“Jennifer has been my massage therapist for over seven years. I had a frozen shoulder and had tried several approaches to heal and work through the injury. With limited range of motion and pain when I moved my arm I tried various treatments to heal including topical remedies, herbs, chiropractic treatments, accupuncture and shiatsu. Most of these helped temporarily yet it was Jennifer’s treatments that gave me lasting results. After 4 or 5 weekly sessions my 6 month experience with a frozen shoulder was over. I have continued seeing Jennifer for overall maintenance because I find her work extremely healing and intuitive. When I have an ache or pain she addresses that issue yet, more importantly, she seems to follow an inner guidance that moves her to other areas, seemingly unrelated, yet the results tell me there was more going on than I realized. I always leave a massage feeling renewed, balanced, energized and grateful.”
